December 21 start of winter.
I was out early with my bicycle; it was -2 degrees Celsius freezing. I visited the marina of Eeklo, with a beautiful sunrise.
I took some pictures, and you can admire the result

Yachting Club EECLO
The Eeklose Yachting & Kampeerautovereniging, in short vzw EYK, was founded on January 20, 1993. Since then, it has managed the recreational domain on the Eeklose Vaart, a side arm of the Schipdonk Canal. The marina of Eeklo was built at the initiative of the non-profit organization and has now grown into a tourist attraction in the rural Meetjesland.
River tourism is on the rise and via the Ghent-Oostende canal you can easily reach the heart of the centre of the flat Meetjesland. The marina of Eeklo has a slipway or slipway and, in addition to traditional moorings for pleasure boats, also offers an ideal base for hikers and campers, thanks to the specially constructed and quiet motorhome parking. In addition to fishing and kayaking, you can enjoy a snack & drink on the rippling water in and around the cozy clubhouse with bistro kitchen. In short, the Marina of Eeklo is without a doubt worth a visit!

Hallo John,
De winter startte met een schitterende dag. Deze foto laat de damp boven het water en de prachtige laagstaande zon heel mooi zien. De compositie is sowieso heel mooi in balans en er is een mooie mix van warme en koele tinten.

Lep refleks na vodi i drvece na obali, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa suncevim zracima i suncem.

Hello John,
It's a nice scenery but this view is overwhelmed by the huge, brightly shining sun. The reflections in the very calm water also made it a good idea to stop here for taking photos. You handled the difficult light well.

Hallo John,
Dat is wel heel moedig: in de winter reeds weg zijn vóór zonsopgang. Tenminste toch voor wie niet meer naar het werk moet.
De zon oogt prachtig op deze foto met zijn stralen in alle richtingen.
Het zonlicht verwarmt de grasberm langs het kanaal en zorgt eveneens voor warme tinten in de weerspiegelingen in het water.
De lucht lijkt inderdaad ijzig koud.
Andere liefhebbers van de vroege winterochtend zie ik niet op de foto.

Hi John,
This is a spectacular effect! I am so jealous! I know how to make the star shaped sun like this but every time I take it, I get a lot of "dirty" reflexes around the star which make it look simple not clean.
Your picture is just perfect! Do you need to remove some extra reflexes in photoshop or you use some other tricks?
In addition to the great capture of the sun you also caught it above the perfect reflection in the channel.
The riverside makes a nice turn in the frame.

Ook hier was het op de 21e een prachtige herfstdag die ons uitnodigde nog een eindje in de polder te fietsen. We waren niet zo vroeg dat we zo mooi de opgaande zon over de weiden konden fotograferen.
Een mooie sfeervolle foto zo vlak voor de kerst. Volgens de meteo is er kans op een beetje witte kerst in het noorden en midden van het land.

A beautiful composition, with this sun that looks like a star with many rays of light. The landscape is beautiful enhanced with the nice reflections in the canal, great perspective.
