‘Leuven - Back to the roots – my 1.000th pic’

After more than 13 years I’ve finally reached the magic number of 1.000 photos.
Most TE members who regularly show pictures here have reached that number already for some time.
Yet I feel like I spend quite a lot of time on this site. Sometimes I even think a little too much :)

Apparently this is going a lot smoother for many other members.
However, I don’t have a shortage of photos that I’d like to show. There are even quite a few from my last (longer) trip to Asia that I haven't shown.

For my 1.000th photo, I decided to go back to the roots. To my roots then.
Here you see a picture from the place where I was born (although never lived): the city of Leuven.

The building you see here is the university library with its tower that is one of the main landmarks in the center of the city.
The neo-Renaissance building was built between 1921 and 1928. The library has an eventful history. There has been two fires.

I was there on a warm summer day and kids enjoyed playing in the fountains on the square at the side of the library building.
