Damme and surroundings.

The drought was a disaster for the farmers.

In 119 years at the beginning of the summer season, it was never as dry as it is now. The Flemish drought commission may advise the governors today to impose additional caption prohibitions on unnavigable watercourses.
The “Boerenbond” also expects measures in most Flemish provinces in the coming days. In the province of Antwerp there is already such a pumping ban for some ecologically sensitive areas.

Due to a combination of less rainfall and more evaporation, our country is getting into the driest start of summer since the beginning of the last century. If it does not rain quickly, it will be a disaster for agriculture and the drinking water supply.

I hope you like it.
