Hallo John,
Een mooie winterse zonsondergang met een warme gloed die door de kale bomen valt. De scherpte is uitstekend, de takken steken mooi af tegen de hemel. De spiegelingen in het kalme water zijn ook schitterend. De komende dagen lijken we ook van deze heldere dagen te krijgen.

Wonderful repetition of the evenly spaced trees with the canal adding deep linear perspective. The converging lines guide the eye towards the bg. Good sharpness too. Tfs!

Hello John,
This is an unmistakable "jhm photo", but the remarkable sharpness, well saturated colours and distinct contrasts puts it a bit above your own average. The light and totally calm weather has produced amazing reflections. As usual the strong diagonals give the composition a perfect structure.

Dag John,
Het zoeken in je archief naar geschikte foto’s om te posten is een van de bijkomende genoegens van TE. Soms is het lastig om tot een keus te komen maar het bladeren door oude herinneringen vind ik altijd zeer aangenaam. Dit schitterende landschap met het Schipdonkkanaal zal vandaag ook een prachtig plaatje opleveren. Tenminste als het bij jullie net zulk mooi winterweer is als hier. Waarschijnlijk is het gras en de bomen nu licht berijpt.
Prachtig werk.

Hello John,

This is a scene so typical of Belgium!
The canal and the lines of poplars, standing to attention, like lines of soldiers, are beautifully positioned in the frame, so that the reflections are nicely included in the shot!
There is a wonderful sense of perspective, created by the diminishing trees.
Winter light can be so kind as seen in your photograph.

Hi John,

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The ength of the canal is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the reflections and of the trees. The sunset is giving nice colours to the picture. Have a nice day.

Ik sta een beetje achter bij je foto's ... veel werk in te halen na mijn reis.
Een fantastisch landschap meesterlijk gepresenteerd zoals steeds. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat jij deze streek in iedere maand van het jaar op een overtuigende en zeer aantrekkelijke manier kan voorstellen.
De weerspiegelingen zijn grandioos.
Je vriend die twee maanden naar India trekt, moet wel een bijzondere figuur zijn.

Hallo John, the trees planted artificially along that canal create an aesthetic lane. They are reflected on the water. The pov give a good depth to the picture. Excellent subdued light. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
