There's the Votive church in the back through the arcades of the City Hall.

The Votive Church (Votivkirche) is a neo-Gothic church located on the Ringstraße in Vienna. Following the attempted assassination of Emperor Franz Joseph in 1853, the Emperor's brother Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian inaugurated a campaign to create a church to thank God for saving the Emperor's life. Funds for construction were solicited from throughout the Empire. The church was dedicated in 1879 on the silver anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Empress Elisabeth.

Hello Daniel, A bit too late for Easter wishes. The timed spent with family was nice but the weather was as bad as one can imagine for spring. Beautiful picture from under the arch with the view of the towers of the Cathedral, Attractive lamp and red geraniums.

Hello Daniel,

well, I hope you had - we were content hadn't it been for the poor weather. Interesting perspective, especially including the lamps, and even the scaffolding is far less disturbing than the cable hanging down limply.

Hello Daniel,
The stone arch makes an excellent natural frame for the twin spires of the church. I like also the contrasting focal point supplied by the elegant lamp. Fine technical presentation.

I hope you had better weather for Easter in Romania. In northern Europe it was very cold and unpleasant.
This is a nice composition, neatly framed and with a good view of the neo-Gothic towers.

Great peek-through view. The arch is a wonderful frame and the light is a winner. The dom in the bg is well placed, there's just that bit of crane that goes against the timelessness of the scene. The monuments need maintenance too.

By chance I came across this previously posted photo.
A surprising view and a wonderful combination of parts of both buildings.
Excellent sharpness, composition, clarity and the red flowers are important by adding an extra colour.
