Photographer's Note

This is a detail of a digital animation project by Peter Kogler. PK works focusing on media, space and architecture.
The project is a large three-dimensional installation whose sequence-like, cinematic transformation of space is reminiscent of early films. The basic raster motif comes to life through computer animations and video projections which set the space into virtual motion. The synchronized projectors allow the animation to extend across the entire area of each wall. A rigid grid begins to distort as the result of digital changes in a coordinated animation. The technoid weave transmutes into irregular, organic-looking shapes that ultimately densify into a solid black field.
For this project the artist Franz Pomassl had designed a sound installation to interact with the projected image-acoustic correspondences which themselves often take on an autonomous role.
This project was created in 2008 by Kogler for the exhibition in the Mumok (Museum Moderner Kunst), Vienna.
I enjoyed sitting in that huge room and experiment the
cinematic transformation of space accompanied by the electronic sound...great experience given with imagination and high quality technique!!!

Have a nice evening :)
