Photographer's Note

This shot is taken at the largest steppe lake in Central Europe, where Puszta and reed belts converge and romantic vineyards blend with the distant horizon. It is on the cross-border region between Austria and Hungary, which extends from the lowlands to the Lake and its expansive reed belt to picturesque towns, magnificent vineyards and wide pastures on which cattle and white burros graze. Lake Neusiedler See has always been a melting pot of cultures. Archaeological monuments, lime sandstone quarries, antique sanctuaries, farmyards and castles there, are witness for that...

Besides being world cultural heritage, this lake is also very popular for sailing and windsurfing...
