Photographer's Note
The lobby of my mid range hotel in Tirana had this interesting montage of a girl made up entirely of b&w photographs. I asked the manager would it be okay to move the boxes and vases in front of it but thought I might be pushing my luck asking for sticky tape to remove the cords hanging over the top, but they are not wildly disturbing in my view.
A montage is a composition made up entirely of one medium. Think of the term 'mono' (one), whereas a collage is a composition made up from 2 or more mediums. Eg Paper, twigs, photos, newspaper shreds, oil paints etc. I never knew that before.

Chris, remarkable artwork seen in Tirana. It represents a woman face. It is made of hundreds of black & white Id card format photos. The little squares contains only children photos. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting note, regards.

Hello Chris,
The hotel owner had an original idea for this montage and you had a good idea to take a photo of it. Usually I like the photographer to contribute something to a picture of a painting or a sculpture, and you contributed well by moving the boxes and vases. ;-)
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
There are some very talented people who have great ideas.
This is a very lovely picture ans, until you move in closely, is not obviously composed of individual photographs.
I remember doing something similar at the Barbican, in London. Each person did a tiny self portrait in pencil. The images were then combined into a huge mural.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Chris,
Le montage est impressionnant. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du visage de la fille et des petites photos. L'image est claire et nette. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
An unexpected work of art for a lobby of a mid-range hotel in Tirana.
Probably made by a talented artist who has studied the work of Chuck Close well. I hope they haven't put the boxes and vases for it anymore.
Excellent presentation
Have a nice Sunday, groet Rob

Hi Chris
Interesting work of art/part of the hotel decor. Well done on all the effort you put into taking this photo, it would not be the same with boxes etc. in front of it. I only noticed the cord when you mentioned it, so, you're right, it's not disturbing.
Thank you for sharing.
Kasia

Lovely piece of artwork, Chris, well deserving of some closer attention. I do not mind the chord hanging there at all.
Great!

Hello Chris,
A very good capture of this work of art, which consists of so many small black and white photographs. I really like the pattern and you captured it very well and clearly.

Hello Chris, Interesting picture made from many small pictures, this time from the black and white photos. My son makes such images too (with a computer, of course). You can't look too close. Only from a distance you see the face. Similar effects were with the computers photos some thirty years ago.
well seen. My regards MAlgo
