I was not lucky with spectacular sunset on the beach so I tried to find another way to present you this nice calm and warm part of the day in the north coast. This time, I wanted to try something I’m not used to but which seemed quite appropriate by playing with overexposure, silhouettes of the palm trees and sun reflection on the sand and the sea.

It was taken on one of the nice beaches of the Las Terrenas village, located north-east of the country in the Samana peninsula. This is a place quite touristic too but mainly with familial infrastructure, small bungalows close from the beach, and many places to discover like “La Cascada del Limon”, “El parc de Los Haitises”, the trip to see the Whales close to “Cayo Levantado” island.

I made the exposure test somewhere on the background trees. Indeed, by chosing the sky, I couldn’t keep the subtle lights between the palm trees and by chosing the darker parts I would have burned the sky. So, this shot was quite balanced regarding the exposure IMO and close from what I wanted to represent. Tell me what you think. Nothing done apart a slight unsharp mask and a resizing.
