Photographer's Note
Dominica was battered by several major hurricanes in the 1990's. These ships were capsized during one of these storms and towed to shore where they have sat for years. It was strange to see these hulks on a picturesque shoreline such as this. But they are a good reminder of the destructive force of a hurricane.
This photo was also taken at the mouth of the Indian River. The body of water that this river empties into is named Prince Rupert Bay. It is rumored that when Christopher Columbus stopped in Dominica on one of his journeys to The New World, he anchored in Prince Rupert Bay.

Amazing view! Why do they keep those ships there?
I like the addition of the speedboat... makes it an interesting rather than sad view.
good colors, good angle.
Well captured!

Very interesting composition, telling a dramatic story. From your shot one can imagine the power of this hurricane...
The interest of the story told is even enhanced by the speedboat heading to the abandonned ships!

Amazing shot. One side is a total mess of wrecked gships and on the other side - blue traquil water with a speedboat - the perfect vacation. Good shot.

Strange place, I like seeing modern ruins. It looks like there was pretty heavy wind this day too looking at the palm trees, but the water is calm, strange. Interesting note and great picture.

How I wish I could shoot those ships! Excelent colors with lot of nice details, and good composition with the diagonal made by the ships. Good cropp and note.

Hi, Linda,
Like this shot, well done as usual and very interesting. Note is informative. Your use of the word "hulks" is Dickensian.
Best wishes,
Matt

Very emotional picture, makes me wonder how they allowed so many big ships to wreck this way... It appears like a giant hand moved them one by one and placed each in perfect choreography.
I also live in a Caribbean island, and we too suffer hurricanes from time to time, but we're kind of aware of its effects and try to tie everything well :)
Very good diagonal made by the ships. The addition of the little boat in the left side helps dimension the size of the bigger ships.
Well done!

Interesting note. Technically speaking the shot is good, the speed boat lends to the shot as well. What I like most is the emotional reaction I felt when I saw it. How unfortunate for the ship owners and island.
