Photographer's Note

La Habana is a extraordinary beauty, but it has two sides.

The bright one we enjoyed having a mojito in a bar with a band playing chan chan, driving down the Malecon ocean drive in a ´52 Chevy convertible at sunset, admiring the wonderful architecture, or listening by chance to a rehearsal of an orchestra of young coloured woman playing in symphonic quality.

The dark side is seeing people living in ruins; the smell (I think everybody can recognize La Habana with closed eyes when visiting the second time); the pollution; the conditions of work; the cheaters, trying to get some money from you with all tricks.

The photo shows a morning in Calle O´Reilly, crossing with Avenida de Belgica, Habana vieja.
