Photographer's Note

During my trip to the old sugar mill Hershey, near Matanzas. This photo, inspired by the painting of Edward Hopper, always reminds me of the loneliness and strangeness I found in this landscape. After years in which the production of sugar for Hershey chocolates was excellent, this plant closed its doors and was left by its owner. Maybe he knew that a Revolution was approaching and his properties would end up intervening. Today is only left of what was that dream, one electric train, the only one in the country, which leads all travelers from Havana. They are sad but wonderful ruins.
