Photographer's Note
After a long day of hard work in the streets the two women met for a small chat. They seemed to be so into it that I decided to shot them... in vain. They spotted me the moment I was getting ready to take a pic. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I captured their smiles as well.
Vietnamese smile is, however, more than we would think it can be. It can take many different forms depending on the situation the Vietnamese are in. It varies and can mean either pleasure, embarrasssment, appreciation, apology and many others. An apology one is what I will remember forever. Saw it when one of the bikers run into a car (which are in scarcity in Hanoi) and had to deal with the car owner.
It was taken in the embassy quarter of Hanoi very close to Uncle Ho Mausoleum.
only sharpened a bit and noise reduced
