Photographer's Note

Please open each photo in a new tab for the better version.rnThe province of Navoi lies to the north of Bukhara but is very under represented on TE.rnOn the drive from Bukhara to Samarkand we stopped to have a look at the Rabati Malik Caravanserai which was built in the 11th century and was on the ancient Silk Road. Caravanserai provided secure shelter for travelling traders. The main gate and an exterior wall are all that remain. It is on the UNESCO world heritage list.rnThe location is well away from rivers so watered was a Sardoba, a water cistern, to store water brought from a distant river. If you go into the Navoi folder (it is less than 1 page) you'll see a photo of the cistern that I uploaded previously.rnIn the WS are 2 photos looking into the cistern where there is still water. r
