Bridal customs, a photo from Bukhara, West

In central Bukhara we came across this unusual sight - a young woman walking along holding up a veil.
I needed to check my journal for the explanation:
After being married the bride is provided 6 different outfits by the groom's family to be worn, one a day for each of 6 days. The mother-in-law escorts the lucky bride around town showing her off. You can see the mother-in-law in the WS.

A good daily life scene of this Uzbek woman dressed up in all her wedding finerey. Good colour, sharpness and framing. Excellent shadow detail on her covered face. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
Interesting bridal custom in Bukhara. I am glad that I didn't need to give my daughter in law such festive dresses.
This dress is beautiful, typical for Uzbekistan with the long skirt and the narrow tr=ousers of the same design.

It sounds like a rather funny tradition, but the bride seems amused to be posing for the foreigner. It's not quite a "daily life" photo, but almost.

Hello Ian, a totally different custom to anything that we have in the west.
The young woman looks beautiful in this outfit.
She seems quite happy to pose for you.
The tiled walls and floor complement the colours and patterns of her clothes.

Beautiful bride on this place of absolutely wonderful architecture. Dominant yellow is not very usual for such costume. But it looks great anyway.

Hi Ian,
I read the note with an interest what sort of custom it may be. The pose of the bride looks as if it was an invitation for a kiss and she stares at you... Luckily for you she was just showing off her traditional outfit.

I've been looking at your photos from Uzbekistan, and all the architectural views are lovely. I felt drawn to this photo for a critique, though. I like how the bride is looking at you with a soft smile on her face, and her outfit is beautiful. I also learned something new about this Uzbek bridal tradition.
