Photographer's Note

Me and my shadow? ..

It was the shadow I found intriguing which reminded me of Gordon Haskell's song, "Shadows on the wall" that I heard a long time ago. A zoomed shot taken in Tashkent city centre from across the thoroughfare on a late cold afternoon just killing my times and I thought it's only appropriate to play around with available elements. The lighting was perfect to capture her shadow casted on the floor & wall.

Personally, I love it when shadows take on a life of their own with a multitude of possible stories and opens the mind to interpretation. I think it gives it a bit of mysterious feel when inside this woman, there's a sense of a second person - a man trying to get out.......

As they say, a shadow never lies!! Anyway just a mundane fun capture nothing added or taken away and a full space justified her place in the composition and tidied up a bit.

Setting: 300 mm, 1/1250 sec, F5.6, ISO Raw 320, 1533 hrs, set on shutter priority and polarised to cut the glare
