Khiva gate, a photo from Xorazm, West

Our lockdown has been eased so I'm dreaming of travel again so I'm going on a revisit to Central Asia and the ancient city of Khiva in Uzbekistan.
Here in the late afternoon is the gate that we used to enter this grand old city that is still fully surrounded by impressive walls.
In the WS is a closer view of the people in the main photo and a view along of the walls

Hello Ian,
I would call this a very stylish entrance to a city. The warm light of early evening helps to create an even more exotic atmosphere, and the few persons are another clear advantage to the picture.

WE are still hesitant to travel too far but seeing this, I am not surprised that you are eager to return!

I cannot imagine why you have kept a photograph of such an amazing, ancient city, in your archives for so long!

These two, tall towers and majestic entrance, look like something I had in history books, long ago!

It's a beautifully composed and sharply exposed photograph! Anyone seeing it would want to know more!

This is such a fantastic and impressive gate of the ancient city. The old brickwork of the high walls and round towers still looks very good. I like the warm colours in combination with the pastel tones of the sky.

Impressive city walls and a wonderful huge gate with two round towers.
Beautiful stone colour with a good contrast with the light blue sky.
Interesting to know that cycling is also done in this very warm country.

I see you travel now both in space and time.
Amazing place. First of all I see the travelogue is called Uzbekistan and South Korea which is quite a particular combination but if course I understand it may have been simple due to flight connections.
