Uzbek Desert, a photo from Nukus, West

Photographer's Note

Much of Uzbekistan is desert.This photo was taken from the top of Chipyk, a Zoroastrian burial mound (Tower of Silence - see my previous posting) and looks north. Access to the tower is along those tracks.If you looked to the south you would see a river with a strip of farming next to it.

Hello Ian,
Uzbekistan is one of those countries that I am curious to see. I wonder how this desert would look in the spring. I love the minimalist frame this landscape results in.

Hello Ian,

What an impressive view of the desert. some green small dots but otherwise no trace of any life for horizon. Awesome view. How did you get there? By car or with the organized trip? I plan to go to Uzbekistan somewhen.
