Ark Citadel, a photo from Bukhara, West

I'm going to take you on another revisit to Uzbekistan, this time to the city of Bukhara.
The Ark Citadel is a massive old fort in Bukhara dating from the 5th century although many of the buildings are much newer. It is built above massive retaining walls which you can see in a WS photo.
The main photo was taken within the main audience area where the ruler received visitors. One unusual requirement for people after their audience was that they had to go backwards towards the exit and could only turn around once they'd reached the low wall in the photo and worked their way around it.
Another WS shows a corner of the citadel where people can take in the views below.

I like Uzbek architecture. Beautiful composition showing the wonderfully decorated gate. Nice to see the Uzbek women in their traditional clothes. Good symmetrical composition, excellent sharpness.

Hi Ian,
This is amazing! I like very much the old decorative elements here. I remember seeing photos from Bukhara as a child. Some Communist Party members were allowed to travel this way or some very rich people. One of them showed me their photos. I was mesmerized with the beauty of this place. Here we can see a high quality presentation. I like the presence of people in traditional clothes,

Hello Ian,
The decorations around the arch are so beautiful and I really like the combination of deep blue and more golden colours. You had perfect light, very nice and clear and the people are well included in the foreground, right in front of the lower white wall.

Hello Ian,
An excellent bonus of these photos is that the Uzbek visitors were dressed traditionally.
It gives the pictures of the wonderful architecture a stronger authentic feeling.
What always strikes me in the photo information is that the travelogue mentions Uzbekistan and South Korea. To me it sounds very strange for someone to combine these countries in one trip. Maybe there's a very good reason for that for Australians.
