Photographer's Note

More and more I am looking for interesting light to base a photo around. Here, I think the backlighting, with most of the direct glare blocked by the demon on the incense burner created that light. The smoke from burning incense didn't hurt either IMO.

I took this last night during an outting with Mark. This was taken early evening at Longshan Temple, which is still one of my favorite photographic haunts. One of the things I really love about Longshan (and many of the temples of Taiwan) is how they are always what borders on chaos, yet it is not difficult to find a moment of peace and introspection at any turn. While other people mill about, this woman takes time to offer up some motionless prayer.
