The old Dutch canal, a photo from Western, South

Photographer's Note

Part of the old Dutch canal that runs from Columbo south through Negombo. I couldn't find out much about it, even from the locals. It was constructed to transport cinnamon in the 17th century. Beautiful piece of architecture and boat trips are available....after a bit of searching around.

Good Morning Chris,

A lovely pov, directing into the distance by way of the shimmering, reflective, green waters. The bridge becomes a natural focal point, separating the f/g and the b/g. The bowing trees, creating a natural border, assist in channelling the viewer into this verdant experience.
Who wouldn't want to join this boat trip!!

A splendid picture . I like the perspective that leads to the bridge . A simple one , but an important element of the composion . With the little boats , and , of course , the superb lush tropical vegetation .

A lovely tropical scene with the reflected coconut palms & the bridge positioned nicely near the vanishing point. The dual sides of the stream or canal add nice linear perspective. The boats at right are a superb addition. Tfs!

A calm canal boating here, looks as a fine way to relax and enjoy the scenery, Chris.
The place is lavish green, and yopu managed fine light under the tree's shades, also good DOF through it's length.
