FIRST IMPRESSION OF BAIKAL, a photo from Irkutsk, East Siberia

Photographer's Note

When we arrived in the lake we waited some minutes to cross the canal and arrive in the largest island of the lake, that you can see ahead.
In FG you can see an Indian and a Chinese who were traveling with me in the same car. At left you can see the same fence whose reflections I posted before and you can see two seagulls, something I will post ahead.
Baikal Lake looks not so huge but it is very deep and it is the spot on Earth with the largest amount of drinkable water, much more than the big lakes of USA.

Quando chegamos ao lago esperamos por algum tempo para cruzar o canal e alcançar a maior ilha do lago, que você pode ver adiante.
No primeiro plano estava um indiano e uma chinesa que estavam viajando no mesmo carro que eu. À esquerda vocês podem ver a mesma cerca cujos reflexos eu mostrei na foto anterior e vocês podem ver ainda duas gaivotas, algo que vou mostrar mais adiante.
O Lago Baikal não parece tão imenso, mas é muito fundo e é o local da terra com a maior quantidade de água potável líquida, mesmo maior que os Grandes Lagos dos EUA.

Good to see the red fence that featured in the striking reflections posted earlier. Excellent sharpness and the vehicular ferry in the bg provides a centre of interest. Tfs!

Hello Jorge,

An interesting photograph as a preliminary to views of the lake and island. You had a very extensive tour!

The details of the fence, reflected in your photograph from yesterday, does make an attractive feature.
The fenced pier, along with the edge of the ferry boat, act like a funnel, guiding us from the f/g, over the water, towards a distant boat and the island.

Your travelling partners were also eager to record the view!

The wideness of the lake is creating depth. The point of v iew is shpowing the details of the pier and of the ferry boat. The colors and the sharpness are very good. Have a nice dya.

Hello Jorge,
My first impression is that the deepest and largest freshwater lake in the world is located in a beautiful and desolate landscape.
The distant view creates a feeling of vastness and unspoilt nature.
Since you're talking about other passengers in the same car, I suppose this was a public transport journey.

I like how you balanced the shot between the blue and calm water and the ferry. The gentle hills in the distances makes a fine backdrop.

Hello Jorge, So, finally you came to this ferrey "Olkhon gates" that will take you to the Olkhon Island. I suppose that you will spensd (on TE) many weeks there, it is so beautiful.

Muy interesante foto del famoso y remoto lago Baikal, veo que las aguas son muy azules, como el cielo pero las orillas parecen muy aridas.
Buen punto de vista, nitidez, luminosidad y colorido.
