Photographer's Note

In Kalibo, there's an annual mardi gras called "Ati-Atihan" that goes on for a week in January. It has religious roots, as it supposedly honors the child Jesus. But through the years, pagan and commercial elements have crept in, and IMO, have actually made the festival's frenzied street dancing even livelier. These are the hats that tourists snap up as souvenirs from the event.... less than $1 a piece, can't beat that!
