Photographer's Note
Cagsaua ruins and Mayon Volcano - The ruins of Cagsaua Church along with the perfect cone of Mount Mayon rising up behind is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the Philippines. The church in front was partly buried in volcanic ash during the eruption of 1814.
Historical Plaque, placed by the Philippines Historical Society in 1954, provides the history of the location.
Comment: On the day we visited clouds partially covered the volcano.. just glad I have captured a glimpse of its perfect cone peak. I intend to return to this location hoping for a clear weather..

A great historical photo, Remus! Your notes are also very informative. Pity the clouds covering the volcano. Maybe this summer, it's much clearer now there. I can still see the peak and how high the volcano is, though. Sharpness and colors are also very good!
You can reach the place from Manila by land, right?

beautiful shot of a beautiful scene. i have seen this countless times in postcards but haven't had a chance to visit in my many returns.
i love the composition with Mayon Volcano in the back, too bad it was too covered up- but thats nature.
thanks Remus.

This is a place I have been wanting to see again with a camera. Last time I was here was 1953, I was 16 years old with no camera. Thank you for sharing this and hopefully you will have better luck next time.

A great shot and the, in my humble opinion, the clouds over the volcano just giving it a glimpse gives the shot this dramatic appearence.
Very well done Remus
