Photographer's Note
A picture taken during the flight from Islamabad to Gilgit, our destination was Shandur to attent/cover the Shandur Festival, and this year we decided to go via Gilgit, it takes another 5 hours by Road from Gilgit to reach Shandur Valley.
And close to The GilGit Airport, our plance was high above The Himalayas, the Himalaya mountain range is the highest on earth and is often referred to culturally as the "roof of the world".
A beautiful Scene from this Hamalaya mountain range, The Himalayas stretch across six nations: Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is the source of three of the world's major river systems, the Indus Basin, the Ganga-Brahmaputra Basin and the Yangtze Basin. An estimated 750 million people live in the watershed area of the Himalayan rivers, which also includes Bangladesh.
