A dear old lady - a very determined Tibetan pilgrim was swinging the prayer beads while walking clockwise at a slow pace round the stupa as the air resounding with bells, chanting prayers and mantra....

A magnet for Buddhist followers, Boudhanath Religious Complex holds its place among the largest stupas in the world and it presents one of the most fascinating specimens of stupa design with hundreds of prayer wheels and numerous small images of Buddha all around. It is also home to some 16000 Tibetan refugees living in the vicinity.

Camera preset on manual mode & lens prefocused to visualise what my lens sees without looking through the viewfinder.

Setting: 10 mm, 1/100 sec, F8, ISO Raw 200, 0818 hrs & Polarised

Because using the viewfinder is too mainstream! ;-) Joking apart, when using such a wide-angle lens, its a good tactic! This time too, it resulted a stunning image! Have I already mentioned that I like the colours of the CCD?

A great impression from this town. You placed the old lady very well in the foreground. The tilt gave the photo lots of dynamism. Also the colours look fantastic and are very well-saturated. The houses in the background are also really colourful. Great work.

The scene is very similar to what I saw in Tibet or Shangri La. The people with the praying wheels in hands going clockwise around the stupa. And these characteristic red frills. Nice composition.
