Photographer's Note

The goat was sacrificed to the Hindu Godess Durga, now it is time to feast. It is hung in strips on rope over the fire to dry. Many people have come home to the farm, for the festival Dasain, so all the meat will be gone in a few days. (Meat is a rare treat to most Nepalis). The chicken was sacrificed to Kali, and cooked by putting straight into the fire. Slices of the goat will be cooked the same way for snacks, or with other ingrediants in pans for meals.
