Photographer's Note

We are two hours drive from Kyaing Tung, in the Golden Triangle in Burma, close to the Thai and Chinese border. We are 1,600m high in the hills and jungle in an Eng village, not too far from the Pin Tauk waterfalls. We visited that village just before the Akha village I already presented.

That old man was the chief of a group of 5 women and 6 kids. Women have typical black clothes and black teeth with that man was dressed casually. The family was living on high bamboo huts with palm trees leaves which protected us very nicely from the very hot temperature.

I spent quite a difficult moment when he convinced me to drink a really hot beverage : rice alcool he bought outside, transfered into a 5 liter jar after hving stuffed it with really hot spices. Quite a strong drink after the very good meal he offered us.
