Photographer's Note
Here it is the famous and I believe much photographed U-Bein Bridge located just on the outskirts of Mandalay. This is not really the classic view, which I think is more with the setting sun and the people in silhouette. I found this one on the net. I was more interested in getting a closer view of the people as in yesterday`s upload. But I did manage this one which is a variation on the obligatory genre! For a larger view: Click Me
I was travelling with Senk from trekearth. Here are two of his wonderful captures from here: Click Me and Me

Hello Steve,
It's quite interesting to see the bridge from this angle, even withour moonlight or a low setting sun. It looks rather weird this way, so crowded and so narrow and seemingly built across normal land. The person in red on the ground is a nice little detail.
Kind regards,
Gert

I've never seen this bridge before and it seems quite extraordinary to me. It looks like very primitive, before man had discovered the arch, but anyway it makes a very good photographic subject! All those trunks create a very graphic and pleasant pattern and the presence of so many people tell us of its importance. (But at a second glance most of them seem tourists, aren't they?) The photo is a marvel of colours and full of life.
