Photographer's Note

It was 4:40 AM on the 6th of December, 1917 when the earthquake occurred in southern Burma. The most notable consequence was the collapse of the Hti Roe from the then extant version of this pagoda, along with the destruction of several smaller pagodas. On the southeast corner of the terrace, this monument presents the remains recovered from this event.
