Photographer's Note

Another aspect of the city of Kuching in Sarawak, Malaysia seen from the Sarawak River.

A scene of contrasts one might say and one that echoes the city's history. In the foreground is the Brooke Dockyard, which introduced an industrial facet to the city and was constructed in 1912. In the background, painted in pink, is the City Mosque constructed some 75 years later to replace an older wooden one dating from the mid nineteenth century.
