Photographer's Note
This is the way Akka people husk rice nowadays, as long as I know this is a woman job in Akka culture probably because men have harder jobs to do, I saw the woman doing the job from downhill so I had to approach here slowly , I've tried my best in order to not disturb here but anyway I had to use the flashlight so finally she was slightly upset...

Luciano

Hi Federico
you have to be careful my friend, is she is upset with you all you have in your hand is a camera - she has a pretty hefty weapon haha. its too bad she felt upset, it would have been better obviously if both of you could walk away with a smile, but those are the risks. In the end, the photo turned out very well, and you have in interesting story to tell. cheers

Hi Federico
Another impressive shot very early in the morning and love the costumes. Your pov just pulls the viewer deep into the composition and seeing this tribal woman's way of life leaves me speechless-how others live. A wonderful insight into rural life, and this is a departure from the usual stuff but up to your usual consistently high standards. Excellent photojournalism and a thought provoking image. Great shot.
Best regards

Bonjour, cher Federico,
Non, cette femme ne joue pas au golf !
L'image est excellente et exprime le travail pénible pour battre les récoltes.
Amitiés.

I am enjoying very much your Lao photos. Many old memories for me. I was first here in 1969. Long ago - but returned in the 90's with much work to do with Lao-American College. Very good photo - hard working people, wonderful people. Thanks

Hi Federico,
Interesting daily life shot. I had no idea rice would look like that after harvest. It is a tough job. Mountainous landscape looks great.

Hello Federico,
Your photo shows the classic way of working very well and at the same time it gives a beautiful picture of the landscape.
Nice traditional dress.
Taken at the right moment.
Was it cold there in the mountains?
Best regards, Paul
