Photographer's Note
This is a picture of one of the original bullet trains (or Shinkansen in Japanese). Talking to one of the drivers, he mentioned that these will go out of production in October of this year.
I remember going on one of these things for the first time in 1984 and the feeling of speed and exhilaration have always stayed with me.
Otsukaresama (great job) bullet train! We'll miss you!
PS: put a bit of noise, converted to B&W

Perfect shot. The grain and compo add to the feeling of days gone by. Very well done!

I like the addition of noise and BW - but the window blends into the background a little too much - maybe a bit of a reflection would give it some life

The grain gives a certain 800 ISO touch to it. Like you tried to capture a very fast going high-tech bullet train with a shutter time as short as possible ;)

I like the composition here, and I like the b&w too. I know I have been done the same at times, but here I think there is just a little too much grain, even though it does well in adding a sort of gritty, timeless feel for the shot. I do very much like how you have positioned the train.

The framing here is just great, as is the subject - good observation. I particularly like the distribution substation in the background, it compliments the train well.
