Photographer's Note
The Japanese children who I saw in Misawa, and elsewhere in Japan, were always fascinating subjects. They expressed many different attitudes as I took their pictures. This one isn't quite sure what to think of a "gaijin" taking her picture.

As always, even with some unperfections, your shot gives an idea, an atmosphere of this part of Japan, just before the economic boom of the 60's changed the face of the whole country. There is a kind of universal in this, as I am sure the same kind of photo was possible in Europe at this time.
Thanks very much for sharing these memories, as a kind of ethnographic trip in nothern Japan, 60's.
