Photographer's Note
I realize these pictures are old and in time I will post newer ones taken with my Nikon D70 [digital].
Technically this picture is a disaster but who cares. It captures a special moment and it speaks for itself.
As always with my film shots, scanned with a Nikon ED-8000 and slightly manipulated with Photoshop CS2.

Yes most definitely this captures a special moment. Just the reason why you wish it didn't go out of focus. :(

Very nice feeling! Happy, carefree children! I like a lot your photo, although not properly focused! B/W was the right choice, it adds to the nostalgic feeling!
The third kid is the biggest "smile" you could get! :)

Lovely Thomas and to think these kids are in their fifties now - I was scuttling round the local pond catching sticklebacks while they were doing this! A really delightful picture!
best wishes

Great shot. I don't know why you had this photo but it introduces good old days past a half century ago. A happy day for all these children, indeed. Thnak you for sharing.

Lovely, everyone seems to be happy, it is impressive that the little girl in the middle is looking at you.
The children in those days seem more lively than nowadays.
Very precious shot!

I LOVE this shot. It's amusing to observe those five faces with different expressions. The first two kids, probably the elder ones, show the joy and the pride of pulling the younger ones. The two small ones at the end, in contrast, show a bit of anxiety about where they were heading for. And the one in the middle looks toward the camera in open curiosity! I like those rain boots they wear too. Very adorable. Yes, as you said, this piece speaks for itself. GREAT WORK!

Just how much charm can you pack into 110kb?
Agree with hispic that this is "precious", such a wonderful moment to catch, but at the same time I disagree that kids today are less lively. They are just the same (I have two at a similar to the kids in this lovely shot), they just need the opportunity.
Technicals? As you say, who cares? The moment is caught, and the spirit is in there.
Made my day!
Thanks.

these kids must be in their early fifties today, and i hope they are as happy and careless as we see them on this photo. I hope they still have fun with simple things like this 'train', and that they have young hearts...
as you say, it is not important the technical quality, you have captured the moment and that is priceless.

A picture taken in 1960 ! A pretty nice one. As you said in your note, the picture is not perfectly taken but who really cares when such a good moment is freezed and sharing the impression you had.

Wow...this is a great shot! Even 55 years later! These little playing like this are just something to see...and you've captured the one in the middle perfectly, too! But they all have wonderful faces and certainly a unique keepsake photo. The little one in the rear is adorable, too!

yes a nice shot and i like the old effect it gives it some feeling, but it would of been perfect however if the capture was taken slightly to the right, so the kids were the main subject.

I really don't think it's too much of a siaster. Actually, I think it has more character than alot of the photos taken today.
For me, photography isn't about the technicals, it's about the subject and the photgraphers view of that subject. So, in that sense, this is a great shot.
Nice work,
John
