Photographer's Note

In Bali, there are some beautiful waterfalls. This is Nungnung waterfall. To see it we had to go down a long, slippery staircase – 509 steps long, to be exact. With every step, the air grew denser and more humid. Finally, we saw it behind some rocks – a strong stream of water, 50 meters high, precipitating into a small pool. Nature was all around us. Ferns, crawling plants, trees growing on the sides of the canyon, bushes with broad waxy leaves. Besides us, there was no one there.

The previous there was heavy rain. we hoped for a bath under a waterfall, bus this brown colour was not especially inviting. On the other hand, it was very impressive with a lot of water.

Of, course, on our way back we had to climb these 509 steps :(. We visited a small cafe. There we could could taste just from the tree the fresh mangosteen fruits, cocos and maracuja (maracuja is a creeper).
