Photographer's Note
The temple Tanah Lot has become popular here in the last days. It is the most famous place in Bali. I have seen many photos of this rock on TE and also internet. But I was a bit disappointed. This is the small rocky island (in high tide), the temple itself is hidden behind the vegetation. And it was NOT crowded with Western tourists. Mayby there were three reasons of it: The people go there to see the sunset, I was in high tide time so it was not possible to go nearby and I was there in the low season and at the beginning of the corona times.
I have seen some other temples in this island of 1000 puras (pura = the Hindu Temple in Bali).
My favorite was Pura Ulun Danu Bratan. The place is fantastic, the small temples with merus situated in islands on the lake. But first of all, we were lucky to see the celebrations. In the main photo, four ladies are going to the temple with their baskets with offerings. Look at their shirts. Such lace shirts are typical festive clothes. How do they carry these baskets on the heads? The solution is in the Workshop. They have a special ring under it. The same ladies in closer view in WS.
I have shown already some photos from there and I still have more that I would like to show. I haven't seen on TE other photos of such celebrations in Bali. More details can be seen in the large format.

Ciao Malgo.Balinese women like in Gert's last post, by now a series of inspirations among members has been triggered, too bad I've never been there and I can't participate in the competition ... hehee ... 3 wonderful photos from your last trip, you were lucky enough to see an event where women were getting ready and there were few tourists, i think there were offers in the baskets but i'm not sure. Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hello Malgo,
Three nice photos, but I prefer WS #2, which has the best light, nicest background and the finest view of the ladies from the front. But they are only three, and I understand you wanted one more than me for the main photo. ;-)
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Malgo,
You have captured well a daily life scene. The point of view is showing the details of the building (Maybe a temple) and of the clothings of the women. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hello Malgo,
You have shown us some excellent photographs of these Balinese ladies, carrying the temple offerings on their heads. Though I like all of the shots, the close up of the three ladies, in the w/s, is by far the best. It is so sharp and beautifully composed.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello MALgo,
I must say, I do agree with you, great minds think alike :-)
I do prefer Pura Ulun Danu Bratan. I was based in Ubud and hired a driver for a day to take me where ever I wanted to go. The last time I was there, there were a lot of celebrations too.
I do like the four Balinese women , doing a catwalk for you. Especially the last one ( left ). She steals the show, a pose like that takes years to practice. As the WS2 are the same women in closer view. In this case, you've chosen the right one for main.
So you do like the white lace shirts, me too ( you see again ). Have you got one yourself? Don't tell me , you use it as table-cloth :-)
I would think that what they're carrying in the basket are for the 'offering' to the God.
Thanks for sharing the beauties of Bali.
Loong

Hi Malgorzata
Great set and each has merit and each is a real document. Its so great to see the local life which is sometimes totally different from the tourist areas that we see. Dont they look a lovely colourful bunch & casual scene in sarong kebaya and basket of offerings on their heads! Fabulous captures of a day in their life I find very fascinating, sometimes you have to turn over a stone to find the real life, and well done for taking us behind the scenes. Congrats
Best regards

Hi Malgo,
A perfectly timed shot of these ladies passing by. The clothes look really wonderful and of course those baskets over the heads catch attention. Temple buildings look very nice too.

Bonjour, chère Malgo,
Les rites et coutumes ancestrales sont parfaitement rendues à travers les différentes prises de vue.
J'admire leur maintien. Certaines sont capables de tenir d'une main leur sac à main ou autres !
Amitiés.

Hi Malgo, great image from Bali, with the women in tradition dress and the temple building behind them. The wide angle and movement adds a dynamism which works well. Cheers, Steve
