Photographer's Note
An evening view of the Istana Bogor (now a hotel - previously a palace), inside Bogor Botanical Garden.
The gardens can claim a large historical significance in botanical research, something which it continues today and which you can see in one of the academic buildings within the gardens. The garden has a large selection of different species of orchids and palms amongst others and makes a nice respite from the relentless roar of Bogor city.
To be honest, if this garden were located somewhere in Europe I'm not sure it would even merit a mention, but there's a distinct lack of this kind of attraction in Asia in general I've noticed - so perhaps that's why it's so famous.
If I had to recommend a botanical garden in Asia (I've been travelling around here for almost 2 years now!), it would have to be the "XingLong Tropical Botanical Garden" on Hainan island in southern China. Absolutely fantastic and well worth a visit.
Thanks for looking :)

Hello Lee,
Nice light captured and the framing of the illuminated building from a dark-ish corner lends this image a kind of uniqueness.
Thanks for sharing
