Photographer's Note
India is known for its forts and palaces of yesteryears. Among these, the ones at Jaisalmer in the desert region of northwest Rajasthan stand in a class of their own. Here, in the midst of shifting sands and isolation, one can see one of the oldest lived- in city forts of India and a temple palace quite unique in itself.
The Rajmahal was the palace of the rulers of Jaisalmer. This seven-storey palace, whose construction started around 1500 A.D is one of the oldest in Rajasthan. The Raj Mahal, located inside the Jaisalmer fort is popular for its lattice -work.
But the palace was, frankly speaking, a bit of a let down for me. Now theoretically a museum but frankly there's nothing in there worth seeing, except the views out of the windows over the tangled narrow streets of the old town. I was intrigued by the intricate floral designs of the windows, being marveled by the intricate workmanship & was wondering about the olden days when perhaps the queen would look out of one of such small windows at the bustling town down below. All of a sudden this girl appeared....and with a smile, she decided to play peek-a-boo with me.
Lucky, my camera was in continuous shooting mode, otherwise I would definitely not have captured this moment.

Hell Mr. B,
A most engaging shot and indeed lucky for you that you had your camera at the ready, and a lucky break for me that I was online to see your post. The density of fine art in India is endless. The time an artist/artisan put into carving such intricate traceries has permanency in its beauty. The resolution in the photograph is fabulous, as are the colors and textures. The note is informative in the manner of most Angshuman creations.
On a personal note, you have my deep sympathies for the insanity that visited India last week. The peace-loving people around the world felt the pain and solidarity of India.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Angshu. Well timed and nicely captured. You need a hair trigger on your camera for shots like this ;-). Good compo, the diagonal framing adds a dynamic touch. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Cute shot - with unique framing. THe angle is really different - so it helps make this shot quite dynamic.

Disappointing or not surely it was worth the visit for this wonderful carving, which you have captured so well. In addition to that you have the framed portrait of the little girl. Good timing!

Bonjour Angshu.
Cette photo est superbe avec le graphisme fait par ces fleurs sculptées et leur belle couleur miel. Le visage de l'enfant est un plus très appréciable.

Hi Angshuman,
what a nice way to break the strength of the façade of this interesting building! It is at the same time a nice framing for this cute little girl with her beautiful bright eyes. It seems that she is enjoying the situation. TFS!

Bonjour Angshu
A well timed capture of the small smiling 'queen' (thanks to continuous s.m.) naturally framed in between the window! The carved work looks amazing and colors are nicely saturated.
Have a nice day

Olá Angshu, definately a funny inclusion. As if the amazing artwork that fills the whole image needed any extra...Like a little prince that found you with surprise the same way you found him. The perfect placement of that eye on top of the window is fantastic. Excellent shot.

Hi ,
No doubt that the concept and idea behind this photograph is mind blowing but I have some questions..
I sense a bit of flash projected in the child's face while the fort looks to be taken in mid sunlight ..
As per the size of the window the face looks abnormally big . ( I have also visited this place 5 -6 years ago )

Hi Angshuman,
Your point view showing a part of the face of the child in the window is an asset to the composition. You have capture an expression of suprise on his face. The details and colors of the latice window are clear and sharp. The light brings out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Angshu,
Adorable! The PoV/compo is great, surprisingly well balanced despite the awkward angle, the pattern of that carved window is quite eye catching, but of course the presence of that smiling and surprised to see you little prince is a great bonus that makes the image irresistible and memorable.
Regards, José.
