Photographer's Note
Jaisalmer is a poetry re-written on sandy deserts of “Sam”. Founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 A.D., Jaisalmer remained untouched from outside influences until it agreed to sign the Instrument of Agreement with the British.
Years back Jaisalmer was strategically located between India and Central Asia on the camel train routes making it rich and powerful. Then with the ongoing tensions & sealed border between India & Pakistan, the trade route died out. Jaisalmer’s economy dried out & the city was on the way downhill, before a Bengali film called ‘Sonar Kella’ revived interest on this far away desert city. Today Jaisalmer is more of a tourist destination....a place of rich legacy.
The Camel Trains led by grooms (people who look after and lead camels) no longer carry goods, exotic & essential across the hostile sands, by virtue of which they had come to be known as "Boats of the desert". These camels now, are mainly tourist carriers. Took this picture in the late evening as the sand began to take on golden hues.

Hello Mr. B,
Absolutely superb! A lesson in photography for all of us, and an advertisement for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 camera that you use. You should offer it for sale (at a substantial price to Panasonic). Aside from the compositional and artistic aspects, it is the quality of the exposure that is surpassing. Bravo. I am happy to be among the first to see and critique this gem.
Have a good weekend,

Hi Angshuman
The atmospheric perspective makes the shot look monochromatic.
The shadows from the sand dunes giving a dramatic effect while the camel train blends in well with the scenery warmed by the dying sun.
Superb shot

Hi Angshu,
The warm late evening low light gave you wonderful colours and an excellent play with light and shadow. I like it how the caravan is disapering under the sand dune, but most of all the light on the last ones of the group...what a great portion of light you catched there...wonderful.

The light is stunning and is casting a wonderful glow on the whole scene. There are some wonderful contrasts on the dunes and the camel train seems to be catching the best of he light. Excellent shot.

Very beautiful, Angshu. Don't know what I like more, if the camel train or this sequence of wave dunes, each one with a diferent tone. But the show of golden light makes the scene very attractive and I like the thin strip of sky in the background just for context. Great shot.

Hello Angshu,
What a beautiful light! This shot teaches us whether the choice of time for photographing is how much important. It seems that the light on the camels is more beautiful when the sky is not out in the image. Still definitely a successful shot. Depiction of wind patterns on the glowing sand is exquisite.

Hi Angshuman,
The different shapes of the sand dunes are assets to the composition. The presence of the came trains is adding a live acctivity to the scenery. The point of view leads our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. The light is playing hide and seek with the sands which is enhanced colors and shadows to them. have a nice day.

Hi Angshu.
Cette photo de désert est superbe tant pour les couleurs que pour le rendu du sable sous une lumière rasante qui allonge les ombres. La vie de ces chameaux doit être moins dure que celle de leurs ancêtres.
Beau travail !

Hi Angshu,
The golden light on this shot, especially the gold and brown areas following each other on the foreground dunes is excellent! I also very much like the narrow band of sky on the upper part, which offers us a nice horizon to look at. Great shot.

hi Angshuman,
I like this shot, no surprise here :) the smooth shapes of the dunes looks like gently rolling waves and create a nice feeling of calm and relaxation. the golden colour is beautiful, so rich and warm, and I particularly like the textures on the sand and the criss-crossing footprints. nice one :)
have a great weekend,

Hi Angshu,
I like the mood and the timing here, and specially the colors, I guess you took it very early in the morning, or late in the afternoon. The combination between shadows and lights in the dunes makes of it a very special pict.

Totally attractive even from thumbnail with golden light on camels and the passengers, dark and light curves of the sand.
Sand looks like endless, it may look even more endless if the sky was cropped.
