Photographer's Note
Finally I have managed to find 100 photos worth posting :) It is indeed a great feeling. I would like to thank all of you who have critiqued my shots and taught me valuable lessons. I have found some invaluable friends here, they do mean a lot to me. THANK YOU!
About this shot, I wanted the 100th shot to be from my hometown Kolkata. So I chose this one. Actually I did not want the sun to be centered, but on both sides of the trees there were trucks standing which made it quite difficult for me to find an alternative POV. I thought the mist and the haze made the atmosphere interesting and I found two distinct tones of colors (blue in the bottom and red on top).
Hope you'll like it.

Nice, for once air pollution is photogenic :-), I'm glad the sun is a little off centre, I wish it was more off centre.

Hi, Shaeri,
congratulations on your 100th. I like that mystical looking scene you've given us. I like those strange looking trees in the mist and the soft colors. The fog is what does it for me, though, that is so cool. Great shot! Thanks and warmest wishes,
Shelly

Hello Shaeri,
Congratulations on your 100th posting which is well worthy of the accolade. A lovely atmospheric composition with great serenity. The central placing of the rising sun works well here as the trees provide for a perfect framing and the sun itself is not to intense. Lovely tones and great clarity.

Shaeri,
what a stunning beauty. The atmosphere with the silhouette of the trees in the foreground and the fog creeping in to give just a hint of the sun, functioning as a huge natural filter is absolutely great. A moment were rules do not apply and the completely centered sun actually works quite well.
Very good image to celebrate your 100th post!

Namaste Shaeri, congratulations for your 100 th !!! and with a great picture, the sun in the middle does not bother at all, I like the fog at the back, and great blue colour with the trees in black. Very good compo, well done! Chau chau,

Hi, Shaeri -
This one looks a lot better full-sized than it did in the thumbnail, so I'm glad I took a closer look. I do think that you could have cropped from the left a bit, which would have cut out that tangle of leaves and moved the sun off center as you wanted. But this way works, too.
And the mist here reminds me of all the misty mornings I saw in India!
Best,
Dan

hello Shaeri,
first of all - congratulations on reaching "100 photos" milestone! wish you many more hundreds to celebrate here :)
second, back to the photo - you're right, the mist and haze add a lot to the photo, this is how I imagined India where Mowgli lived :) I don't mind the centered sun, the way you've placed the trees in the frame creates sort of a tunnel with the sun at the end, I actually like that. very nice work, my compliments.
happy posting in future,
Kristine

Hi Shaeri,
Congratulations for the event. I hope we can commemorate many more 100's 'together'.
I don't know the cause of it, but this kind of image often reminds me of India and when I look at them I imagine hearing the enchanting melodies of tablas, sitars and flutes coming from that haze. Incidentally, it also brings me pleasant memories of early mornings in the South of Nepal.
It's stunningly beautiful and inspiring photo. The centred sun doesn't bother me, as it is wonderfully framed by the silhouettes of the trees.
Regards, José.

The misty atmosphere is lovely and the subtle tones of blue and pink work well together. The silhouetted trees make some wonderful shapes across the image. The centred sun looks fine. Well done

Hello Shaeri
Your first landmark in TE...took quite a while though ;-). Big congratulations! I know how difficult it is to balance research work with posting, so your achievement is all the more laudable. A very moody picture, with the haze & the colour transition from blue to pink at the top & IMO the central sun is just fine. Now for the next century!
Best wishes

Hi Shaeri, sorry I missed this one. A belated congratulations on #100. Either you place something like the sun off centre, or go for it, and give us a "straight down the tubes" shot! I like this sun in the centre like this, framed by the mist and the trees. I like the colours found in this shot with the blues contrasting nicely with your red / gold sun and the subtle transitions.
Thanks, enjoyed! John

Hi Shaeri,
What a wonderful image full of charm.....lovely subdued tones which rely simply of boldness to reflect the depth in the shot. I like the contrasted orange sun placed right in the centre of the frame....goes against normal rules, but works so effectively. Very well done.
