Photographer's Note
Living in the dark ?
Trapped by self-illusions ?
A solution, shared religion, maybe the way to modesty, how small we are in the univers ...
They invited us in the small temple to share their joy celebrating Ayappan.
The young boy leading the songs, eyes closed, holding out the tray of fire, enlightened.
Is religion really a waste ?
What do we have, who are we ... without ?

I used to join this pooja's, Its lovely to be with a crowd of devotees... singing, praying, wonderful experience for worshiping god.

Ciao Henk!
Do you know how many wars now in the world for religion reasons?
I think that religion may be help to one's life, but everybody is sure that his own religion is the only one. And faith is faith, faith starts where reason ends.
This picture of yours is moving! I should go to our churches and look and photograph people there, it is a subject I forget till now.
You are a champion in photographing in the dark!
Ciao!!!

Hi Henk,
So you already settled back in TN and started the hunt for incredible colors and exotic situations.
A photo full of rich details, an interesting expression of the kid in deep religious thoughts and the wartmh of fired up environ makes this one a delightful classic of yours.
Cheers,
Deniz

Actually – how close a photographer can get to the most intimate moments…?
Will his camera disturb the atmosphere of prayers…
Will the people behave as naturally as in this situation they should be …?
Dear Henk… It’s a priceless photographical documentary…
I don’t know how you did it…I don’t want to know how you did it…
It’s a black magic ( in this case: a red one, rather)…
Talking about ‘talking’ faces…!!!
What a great moments… An art of being there…
A highest class in proficiency of use your presence on such magnificent way…
