Puri-Chilika, a photo from Orissa, East

Photographer's Note

Orissa is one of the best pilgrimage center in India. Famous Jagannath Temple is situated at Puri. Lakhs of pilgrims from all parts of the India comes here to visit Jagannath Temple at Puri.

Tourist coming to Puri also visits nearby Chilika Lake that is known as Asia's largest lake.

On the road from Puri to Chilika, I found beautiful lush surroundings. Look at this scene. The small huts and some large area filled with water are very common scene in Orissa. Small ponds are used to irrigate Rice crop and to fulfill daily requirements of the people living there.

The photo is taken from running bus, so no option was there for proper framing.

You've captured a typical but beautiful rural scene, full of serene greenery. I like how you've kept the hut to the side of the frame with the tall coconut palms dominating the skyline. Lacks a bit of sharpness, but otherwise a lovely shot

as radeeh said, you should have contacted him before your visit. i am planning on a visit to india during oct-nov and also planning a visit to puri.
anyway, you have captured the lush greenery very well here. details, colors are enhanced by the use of the light here.

Beautiful tropical scene with coconut and palm trees. I saw your portfolio and you do have very good shots, maybe your post in TE isn't frequent enough, reason why no many friends enter to critique yours pictures. But anyway this shot is good with nice colors contrast and perspective, more sharpness will help.

well captured and nicely framed shot of this thick tropical vegetation. You did well to include the hut in the compo balancing well the pic. Good light control and nice, cripy colours here. Well done and best wishes!
