Photographer's Note
A shrine in the street, in china bazar, Chennai.
Very busy crossing, with much trafic, people come here to pray, make offerings amoingst the crowd.
Coconut is a main element of the ritual.

salut joel,
smoke,
smoke is the thing that "composes" excellent photographs;
no exception here - i adore the images with that twist of oriantalism and smoke;
very nice street photo, lots going on here but somehow its good - busy street, with a touch of mysticism;

Hi Joel,
Wonderful capture of the moment. As Jerjy said, it is beautiful to have smokes in the composition, and this is a great example here. Nice daily life shot.

The streets in India offers so many photo opportunities and this is good example of that. As others have already said, the smoke is the catalyst in this photo.

That's funny, Joel. Today I read in a book about India and the author writes about the coconut as an element of religious rituals and now I found your picture and the note. A beautiful image with a special atmosphere.
