This traditional wall painting or precisely 'Mewar' painting style is common in Udaipur - an integral part of the region’s identity where many of these artworks can be found not only in the palaces, 'havelis' and houses but also on the streets of town. A quaint custom of the past, the themes normally revolve around paintings of war elephants, sceneries, horses, tigers and soldiers from ancient times.

This was captured at a local house, adorning the wall with quite intricate handpainted mural of a Maharaja atop on a bedecked elephant & soldiers guarding the entrance!!

I loved how he merged into the scene

Good sharpness and an excellent capture of the wall paintings, one in sunlight at right of the door and the other in shadow to the left. The elephant is half in sunlight and half in shadow, but this adds an interesting graphic effect. Tfs!

A good photo of the entrance to this house and the beautiful and colourful paintings on either side, which stand out so well from the white walls. Also the play of shadows adds a nice touch and the man is well included.

I like the details of the figures and the patterns on the white wall, they certainly add interest to something that would otherwise be quite bland. But, how interesting that you were able to include the figure, dressed in similar colours to the wall paintings.I cannot quite decide what he is doing; do you remember? Maybe he is reading!

Splendid image of this house, with that beautiful decoration on the facade with the painting of the elephant and the maharaja above it, the two soldiers standing guard on both sides of the door is quite an effect, the garland that surrounds the door is also beautiful, the man sitting next to him is the ideal complement to the scene.
Wonderful image, with optimal sharpness, exposure and color, an excellent POV.
