Chanda Mama Door ke !!!, a photo from Haryana, North

Photographer's Note

This is full moon clicked today only in as far resolution as my camera permitted....The title is the line of a hindi poem for kids...'Chanda' means moon, 'mama' means maternal uncle, 'door ke' means far away... This is a poem with which every hindi speaking Indian has the childhood memories associated with...In Indian culture, kids are introduced to moon as maternal uncle...

I myself have written three hindi poems on full moon...

Today's Full moon is related to festival Buddha Purnima in India.. also Known as Buddha Jayanti....the birth Anniversary of Lord Buddha..This usually fall on Full moon in between April and May every year and is a gazetted holiday in India.

The full moon here was tinged with red but I couldn't get a decent photo of it. This one is sharp enough.

Very nice I looked at it and did mean to try and see the eclipse at about 3 to 4 GMT but slept through it. A pity as here in the U K it is often cloudy.

A much better result than anything I have ever managed! I might have placed the moon at the vertical and horizontal 1/3 axis points on the frame. Tfs!
