Photographer's Note

Ibrahim Roza Mahal is one of the important and beautiful tourist attractions in the monumental town of Bijapur, Karnataka. Ibrahim Roza has twin Mahals(buildings) with intricate floral-carvings on the walls. The domes and minarets are perfectly placed.

This monument is the tomb of Ibrahim Adil Shah II (ruled 1580-1627), the fifth king of the Adil-Shahi dynasty and, like the Mughal emperor Akbar, known for religious tolerance. Built on a single rock bed, it is noted for the symmetry of its features. It is said that the design for the Ibrahim Roza served as an inspiration for that of the famous Taj Mahal.

Here is a portion of the huge walls that display beautiful floral carvings. Edits done in PS-Express 9.0
