Photographer's Note
Legendary Indian musician, Tansen, who is considered the greatest singer-musician ever born in India was born around 1505 AD near Gwalior. Though a Hindu by birth, Tansen was also a believer in Islam. He was a disciple of Sufi Saint Sheikh Muhammad Ghaus, and after his death the great musician was buried near his spiritual master’s mazaar. According to local folklore, the Sufi Saint also granted the boon of a son to Tansen’s parents, and is therefore venerated as Tansen’s janma daata (the giver of life). According to another version, Mohammad Ghaus was an Afghan prince. Whatever be the truth, the mazaar (tomb) of Mohammad Ghaus suggests that he was a man held in great esteem. Designed in the typical Mughal style, the tomb is a grand structure that arrests one’s attention. Built in the shape of a large square with hexagonal towers at its corners, the whole building is surmounted by a large dome, which was earlier covered with blue glazed tiles.
Built in late 16th century, the walls of the building have elaborate carved-stone latticework which covers all sides of the building. Its hexagonal pillars and screens using pierced stone technique are simply marvelous, with each panel having a different design. The opulence of this intricate lattice work left me awestruck as the bright sun streamed through these fine lattice windows.

Hello Angshuman! A beautiful smart composition! The little "sun dance" on the ground is THE key to this photo. Absolutely charming this way, a wonderful ingredient, you can almost see the sun dance around, the patterns move with the day. Excellent, I love it! Best regards + have a wonderful weekend, Barbara.

Dear Angshu da,
beautiful capture of these patterns. The light through left side decorated the floor nicely. Beautiful natural silhouettes of this patterns and the lovely colours are visible through it. Superb composition. I love Aadil J's type. It is like that but not similar with his style. You have framed it nicely with a nice Angshu signature. Very well done. Tfs.

just gorgeous...
simple idea of using sophisticated ornaments to filter the light...
small squared light-dots on the floor look as if the ghost...
nice work...
best wishes, j.

Hello Angshuman!
I like the patterns here, and of course the light. Two suggestions:
First, I think a slightly darker shade of frame label may be more effective. 100% white stands out sharper than the image features...
Second, you might want to try an HDR in this setting. I know HDRs are a bit unorthodox, and they rob a picture of these high-contrast patterns, but I thought that some detail in the blacked-out foreground would be interesting too...
Definitely a great shot!

Hello Mr. B,
Seeing your photos and reading the accompanying notes bring much pleasure, and as usual none ever disappoint. Unhappily the link you provided is broken, and I could not see what you had there. But what would be really useful is to have a link to Master Tansen's music. Listening to Sufi music would be a special treat.
Warm regards, Mr. B, enjoy the week.

A very beautiful photo and an elegant composition. You mananged to show very well the intricacy and beauty of those lattice windows and exlpoiting well their "projection" on the floor. The chromatic contrast between the colourful exterior and the dark interior is another fine and ineresting feature.
A great shot, expressive and informative.
Well done,

Bonjour Angshu.
J'aime beaucoup le jeu de la lumière à travers cette dentelle des fenêtres. Sur le sol les ombres portées répondent au graphisme des contre-jours.
Une réussite !

Hello Angshu,
Interesting multi framing!
The window serves as framing for the view outside, and at the same time frames the incoming light, clever...
The composition is well balanced with good details, the final framing by the photographer works well too..!

hello Angshuman,
for me photography is all about the light, and one could use this image as an example, because it's the light that makes it so special. delicate, almost fragile, like a fleeting dream... love the shot.

Hi Angshu,
It is always a pleasure to see this work of art, latticework with beautiful designs on each panel, that show just how dedicated to art is the culture of India. the way the backlight litting throught the sihouette of the screen is always a fantastic sight and a popular photography subject. This one is very lovely with great light and the shadow and light on the ground show us the side that we don't see. Lovely shot Angshu, just beautiful. Thanks and have a great day.

Hello Angshu
Indeed beautiful artwork, which you had nicely exposed and framed...You had a good eye in spotting the 2 arches which we can see on the right side through the latticed windows.
The golden patterns are nice detail to look at!
Have a nice evening
