Photographer's Note
The giant shadow of the camel reminded me of the monstrous AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) walkers from the film "Empire Strikes Back" ...
...take a look here :-)
The other camel seems least interested about the 'marauding war machine' as he looked in the other direction.
Shot taken in the golden sands of Sam Dunes in Jaisalmer, nearing sunset.
I wish you all in the TE family a very merry Christmas and a wonderful, peaceful & prosperous New Year. Economists & financial experts have warned that 2009 is going to be one of the worst in living history, globally. But we would hope that the situation would not have as severe as predicted...

Hello,
I like the idea of the title and the realisation of this photo with the shadow to illustrate the camel as well the real one in the opposite corner.
Very well managed,
Yves.

Hi Angshuman,
This is a visually interesting reflection composition juxtaposing the camel shadow and the sitting camel. My son agrees with you about the shadow looking like the walkers from Star Wars - and he is the definitive expert ;) Focus is a little soft but I'm sure that is due to trying to take the image from atop a moving camel. They still don't come with shock absorbers as far as I know :)
Happiest of holiday seasons to you and yours!

I don't know too much about Star Wars but it certainly seems like something from another planet. The compo works really well with the inclusion of the seated camel working very well for balance. I would prefer them to be the other way round so they both "look" into the frame, but I realise I am asking for the impossible. :D. The low sun makes wonderful colours and contrasts. Well done
Happy holidays to you too and let's hope the economists are being too pessimistic! (probably not)

Hi Angshuman,
The shadow of the camel on the sand is an asset to the composition. The point of view takes our eyes toward the camel and to the top of the san dune which is giving depth to the photo. The picture is clear and precise. The early evening light is enhancing the colors of the scenery. have a nice day.

Hi Angshuman
Good catch of the camels shadow falling across the orange / red desert sand. The distant camel adds symmetry, & the red cover contrasts well against the blue sky. Tfs!

Seasons greetings Angshu. Nice catch and as you say just like the AT-AT. The second camel is a good addition and is well placed in the frame. Wonderful colours. Thanks for sharing.

Olá Angshu, very nice comparison with the monstruous walkers of Star Wars. The head looks exactely the same. It sure makes me relate more with this picture and apreciate it more. The other camel is being punished for not wanting to participate in this take - it makes a fine opposition to this FG and it also adds nicely the red color. Without the 'clothes' the camel wouldn't stand out so well. Good idea and excellent realization.
Friendly regards,
ricardo

Bonjour Anghsu.
Cette ombre semble sortir d'un film de monstres alors que l'autre bête semble bien tranquille. J'aime le rendu du sable sous la douce lumière.
I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year !

Hi Angshuman,
Yes, these camels are undoubtedly an excellent way of transport all terrain, the title of your photo is very well select. It is very interesting and funny to see how the shade reminds us the war machine of the film The Empire Strikes Back.
I like the strong graphism that creates this shade on the sand of the dunes, while the other camel is resting with a nice red garment.
The scene is fantastic, has a great visual attraction.
I wish a very Happy Christmas for you and your family, my friend.
Friendly regards,
Josep

hello Angshu,
Très belle composition, originale, avec cette ombre de chameau au premier plan, et ce chameau couché un peu plus loin. Je me demande si elle n'aurait pas eu plus d'impact sans le ciel (ws).
Bonnes fêtes.

Hi Angshu,
Good observation here, the comparison of the camel's shadow with the AT-AT is rather peculiar, but I must admit that appropriated. You've played well (again!), with dunes, sunset light, and shadows. Good job!
I wish you a merry Christmas!

Hi Angshu,
Great Christmas card, really funny!!
As to the experts prediction, I'd been saying since last year, "Anybody who runs for (US) president this round has to certifiably insane or totally out of contact with reality." Still I'm glad Obama ran and won; he seems to be very intelligent, disciplined and careful with picking advisors, to whom he will listen. Still, the world is an awful hole.
When will people learn that we're all connected?

Hello Mr. B,
There is a theory that some of the paintings by the great Greek-Spanish painter, El Greco, display astigmatism in his elongated figures. This is very much evocative of an El Greco painting. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year also. (Incidentally, you have probably known that the British wish a "Happy Christmas," the Americans a "Merry Christmas." Churchill once made the pronouncement, "We [the English] have everything in common with the Americans, except the language.")
Warmest regards,
Bulent

Hi Angshu,
It's a very eye catching image, not only for the big shadow and the amazing resemblance with those Star War machines, but also for the colours, the sense of expanse and the play of the shadow of the unseen camel with a the real camel nicely wrapped in red on the right. I wonder how much did you pay to the owner of the camel to wrap him in red, just for the sake of the photo. :D I am joking, of course.
I wish you also a Happy New Year.
Regards, José.

hi Anghsu, the low sun creates a wonderful glow on the dunes. Nice capture even though my knowledge of Star Wars is virtually nil - I have never seen an episode. The sittign camel balances the shot, although if i have to nitpick I would ahve liked to see them both looking into the frame insteaad of out. Go back Angshu:)
Best wishes - Elaine
