Photographer's Note

Pilgrims in colourful attire gathered to take a ritual dip at Ghandi Ghat - one of the 52 bathing ghats in Holy Lake Pushkar, a sacred pilgrimage site for devout Hindus, surrounded with some 500 temples built centuries ago. Pushkar is a glorious semi desert town for photography and a gem amongst the grandeur of Rajasthan where riot of colours and frenzied burst of activity come alive daily.

Setting: 300 mm, 1/1250 sec, F5.6, ISO Raw 200, 0705 hrs & Polarised

This is a superb shot!
The people, in their colourful costumes, waiting on the Ghandi Ghat or paddling out into the holy water, make excellent focal images. Before them, the reflections add to the spectacle. It's a very well composed photograph!

But then, humorously, we see the waiting pigeons, huddled in groups, as if waiting their turn to take a religious dip!
Splendid!

Excellent daily life scene with splendid, vivid colours. The reflections are also really nice. The pigeons are a nice addition too. I like those taking off in bg, in a John Woo film it would be mean that something dramatic is going to happen.

A picture of two halves, the colourful clothing of the people, the yellow signage, and then the beautiful reflections on the water.

Hello abmdsudi, ot course, the scene from Pushkar. You were lucky that you could see it with the water. When I was there, the lake was dry, only with a few kinds of "swimming pools". Lovelycomposition with a lot of pigeons.

A very good photo from a good viewpoint, showing the many people who had gathered near the calm water. It is a really nice detail that a lot of pigeons were sitting on the steps in the foreground as well. The colours are very attractive and well-saturated. Gorgeous reflections, too.
